Our Farm

Nestled in the heart of East Texas, Handfuls of Purpose Farm is a small, family-run operation dedicated to sustainable, humane farming practices that honor the Creator’s instructions. Our name is inspired by Ruth 2:16 from the King James Version of the Bible: “And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.” This verse guides our mission to grow abundant food not just for sale, but to share with needy widows and elderly in our community.

We started with a modest 40-acre hunting lease in 2012, with dreams of building a self-sustaining homestead. After years of hard work, we made the full move in 2021 and expanded to 50 acres of mostly wooded land. Today, we raise parasite-resistant sheep, livestock guardian dogs, geese, chickens, and seasonal vegetables, all while prioritizing a clean, pharmaceutical-free lifestyle for ourselves and our animals.

At Handfuls of Purpose Farm, we believe in putting Him first in all things. We rest on the seventh day as commanded, avoid raising biblically unclean animals like pigs for food sales, and ensure every creature under our care is treated humanely with the best possible living conditions. Our animals are never vaccinated and are dewormed using natural remedies, reflecting our commitment to purity and health.

Whether you’re interested in our hardy sheep, protective guardian dogs, fresh produce, or simply learning about our faith-driven approach, we invite you to explore our site. We occasionally have livestock guardian dog puppies and sheep available for sale—check back here or follow us on social media for updates.

Thank you for visiting. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our story and bounty with you.
